VIT counselling 2026 live updates: Phase 3 process begins for engineering aspirants

Vellore Institute of Technology has officially commenced the Phase 3 counselling process for the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination 2026 (VITEEE) 2026 from May 28. Candidates who secured ranks between 45,001 and 70,000 are now eligible to participate in the counselling process by registering and filling in their preferred campus and course choices through the official website, vit.ac.in.

Phase 3 admission open

The VITEEE is conducted every year for admission to undergraduate B.Tech programmes offered across VIT campuses located in Vellore, Bhopal, Chennai and Andhra Pradesh. Thousands of engineering aspirants from across the country participate in the entrance examination seeking admission to the institute’s various engineering courses.

According to the official schedule released by VIT, the Phase 3 counselling process will remain open until 5 pm on May 29, 2026. Eligible candidates are advised to complete the registration and choice filling process within the stipulated deadline to avoid any last-minute issues.

To participate in the counselling process, candidates must first visit the official website, vit.ac.in. On the homepage, applicants need to click on the “Student Login” option available under the “Academics” section. After entering the required login credentials, candidates can proceed to fill in their preferred campus and course choices before submitting the application form.

The institute has also announced the timeline for the Phase 3 seat allotment results. The allotment outcome will be declared on May 31, 2026. Candidates who are satisfied with the allotted seat and wish to confirm their admission will have to pay the advance tuition fee between May 31 and June 6, 2026.

VIT has released further details

Meanwhile, VIT has also shared details regarding the upcoming Phase 4 counselling schedule. The registration process for Phase 4 will begin on June 6, 2026, for candidates securing ranks between 70,001 and 1,00,000. The choice filling process for this phase is scheduled to take place from June 7 to June 8, 2026.

Additionally, candidates who obtained ranks above 1 lakh will be able to register for counselling from June 17, 2026, while their choice filling window will remain open from June 17 to June 18, 2026.
