A video from the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest in Delhi has gone viral after a man claimed that he travelled all the way from Australia and spent nearly ₹1 lakh on flight tickets to participate in the demonstration. The clip has generated widespread reactions on social media, with many praising his commitment while others questioned the extent of his sacrifice.
Protester claims costly journey
The video was shared on Instagram by content creator Sarthak Goswami under the account sarthakstories, who spoke to the protester during the demonstration. To support his claim, the man displayed what appeared to be his Australian identity card and said he had travelled directly from Australia.
When Goswami asked why he chose to make such an expensive journey just to attend the protest, the man replied, “Brother, ₹1 lakh ka ticket lekar aaya hoon yahan par sirf protest join karne ke liye” (Brother, I have come here after spending 1 lakh rupees to only join the protest).
Video sparks online debate
The clip quickly gained traction online, with users expressing mixed opinions. While several social media users applauded the man’s dedication and willingness to spend a significant amount to participate in the movement, others debated whether such a journey was necessary.
The video has become one of several viral moments emerging from the ongoing CJP-led demonstrations, which have attracted students, activists and supporters from different parts of the country and abroad.
