Indian Railways has officially launched the New IRCTC beta website, marking the first major redesign of the country’s online train ticket booking platform in years. The upgraded portal introduces a cleaner interface, quicker booking flow and several user-friendly improvements aimed at making ticket reservations faster and more convenient.
The beta platform allows passengers to explore the redesigned website while sharing feedback that will help Indian Railways refine the system before the complete rollout. The launch follows Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s announcement that the revamped portal would be introduced by mid-July.

Passengers can access the new IRCTC beta website through the official portal at https://www.irctc.co.in/eticket/. Indian Railways has also placed a direct link to the beta version on the homepage of the existing IRCTC website, allowing users to switch easily between the old and new platforms.
The railway ministry has encouraged passengers to test the new interface and provide suggestions regarding its usability, booking process, and overall customer experience. Feedback received during the beta phase will be incorporated before the full commercial launch.

New IRCTC beta website introduces faster booking features
One of the biggest improvements in the new IRCTC beta website is a simplified booking process designed to reduce the number of steps required to complete a reservation.
The platform removes unnecessary captchas and distracting pop-up elements, making navigation smoother. Users can now view seat availability across multiple travel classes without repeatedly changing filters.
Another useful addition is the ability to save passenger details, allowing frequent travellers to complete bookings much faster during future visits.
The redesigned interface also focuses on improving readability with a cleaner layout and fewer visual distractions compared to the existing website.

Integration with new reservation system coming soon
The new IRCTC beta website is only one part of a much larger digital upgrade planned by Indian Railways. The railway ministry confirmed that the portal will soon be integrated with the country’s revamped Passenger Reservation System (PRS), which powers train bookings across multiple platforms.
Officials stated that work on the upgraded reservation engine has continued while maintaining uninterrupted railway booking services. Once completed, the new backend is expected to deliver faster response times and improve booking efficiency during peak demand.
With the beta version now available, Indian Railways is moving closer to delivering a modern digital ticketing platform capable of handling millions of bookings every day while offering a significantly improved passenger experience.
