Noida International Airport to levy passenger user fee from mid-June; AERA sets UDF rates

The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has finalised the User Development Fee (UDF) for passengers at the Noida International Airport, which is set to begin commercial operations on June 15. The charges will apply for the 2026–27 period.

According to AERA, departing domestic passengers will pay ₹490 per ticket, while those flying internationally will be charged ₹980. For arrivals, domestic passengers will pay ₹210, and international arrivals will be charged ₹420.

The regulator noted that the approved UDF is lower than what the airport operator had initially proposed. The operator had sought ₹653 for departing domestic passengers and ₹1,200 for departing international travellers.

Lower-than-proposed charges finalised

Clarifying the pricing decision, AERA said, “These rates are the same as decided in the ad-hoc tariff order issued in August 2025.” The authority added that the finalised fee structure remains in line with prevailing rates across the country.

It further stated that the charges at Noida International Airport are comparable to the national average UDF at major airports and fall within the range currently applicable at non-major airports.

Incentives to boost airline operations

To support traffic growth in the airport’s initial years, AERA has approved a Variable Tariff Plan (VTP). This framework is aimed at encouraging airlines to launch new routes, increase flight frequency and expand their network from the airport.

The VTP will primarily apply to landing and parking charges, offering flexibility to airlines as they scale operations.

The Noida International Airport, inaugurated on March 28, is expected to ease congestion at nearby hubs and improve connectivity in the National Capital Region. With fee structures now in place, the airport is gearing up for its mid-June operational debut.
