Residents living near Kochi airport may soon receive compensation for damages allegedly caused by aircraft flying at low altitudes. As per The Times of India, authorities at Cochin International Airport Limited are considering providing financial assistance through corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds after a series of similar incidents raised safety concerns in nearby neighbourhoods.

Airport authorities are evaluating the possibility of compensating homeowners whose properties have been damaged in incidents involving aircraft approaching the airport.

Latest incident sparks concern

The move comes after another house near the airport suffered damage when a low-flying aircraft passed overhead. The incident is said to be the third such case reported in the area within the past year, intensifying concerns among local residents.

While compensation may provide immediate relief, local residents are reportedly calling for measures that address the root cause of the problem. Many have expressed concerns about safety and are seeking long-term safeguards to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
