Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt has joined a growing list of film personalities voicing support for the CJP-led student protests in Delhi. Her statement comes days after students protesting against alleged paper leaks faced a lathi-charge during their march on Monday. The issue has sparked widespread reactions, with several actors speaking out in solidarity with the students.
Alia Bhatt shares an emotional message for students
Taking to Instagram, Alia Bhatt posted a heartfelt note, praising the determination of the students and acknowledging the struggles behind their fight.
“The last few days have broken my heart and then mended it, again and again, with hope. Behind every student standing their ground is a dream, a family’s hope, a journey of countless sacrifices. They represent not just themselves but everyone who has supported them, while creating a better path for those who will come after them.”
She also highlighted the importance of listening to the younger generation and the role they will play in shaping the country’s future.
“Their courage humbles me. Their resolve is a mirror held up to all of us, asking whether we are truly listening to the very people who will inherit and shape this country’s tomorrow. For the students. By the students. The future is theirs Jai Hind.”
Salman Khan had extended support earlier
Before Alia’s statement, Salman Khan had publicly backed the students’ movement. Sharing a childhood photograph of himself on social media, the actor described the protest as peaceful and expressed concern over the violence that followed.
“It was such a peaceful movement, feel so sad that it had to take a violent turn. My heart goes out to the students and their families who were hurt. Paper leak is a very serious issue, and I am glad to know n see that the kids of our country have come together for a better educational system, and their parents supported them.”
He further praised the students’ commitment to education.
“I truly appreciate the stand they have taken, showing dedication, sincerity, and keenness to study hard n make their future and a greater, educated India. This andolan, this protest, is the right way to go abt it, n the students have done this peacefully. So courageous and brave. Driven and motivated towards education, this generation will make India proud.”

Salman also said the movement should not be turned into a political issue and stressed that the students alone deserved credit for leading the protest.

Support for the student movement has continued to grow within the film industry. Huma Qureshi, along with her brother Saqib Saleem, visited the protest site at Jantar Mantar in the early hours of Thursday, July 23, 2026, to stand with the students.
Several other actors, including Rajkummar Rao, Prakash Raj, Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar, have also expressed solidarity with the protesters in recent days, adding their voices to the nationwide conversation surrounding the demonstrations.
