Speculation around Cocktail 2 has intensified after reports suggested that Deepika Padukone may make a special appearance as Veronica, her iconic character from the 2012 film Cocktail.
While there has been no official confirmation from the makers, the possibility of Veronica’s return has generated significant buzz online.

The rumours gained traction after a Reddit post claimed that Padukone had been approached multiple times by the makers and had already shot her cameo. The post also suggested that her visit to Maddock Films’ office months ago may have been linked to the project.

In spite of all the online buzz, no official statement has been issued by the movie’s producers regarding her participation.

Why Veronica is relevant today
Her character Veronica in Cocktail is considered one of Padukone’s most memorable roles to date. This independent, fearless woman torn between Meera (played by Diana Penty) and Gautam (played by Saif Ali Khan) helped her redefine her cinematic image and become a big star.
About ‘Cocktail 2’
The movie will be directed by Homi Adajania, the same director who made the first part of the movie. In the sequel, the lead characters are Kriti Sanon, Rashmika Mandanna, and Shahid Kapoor. The movie will be released on 19th June 2026.
As per Kriti Sanon, her character in the movie is the boldest one she has played before, bringing something new but keeping the core elements of the original movie.
