‘Ho gaya abhi?’: Alia Bhatt reacts after crowd surrounds her at Cannes

Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt appeared visibly upset after being mobbed by fans and photographers during one of her appearances at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival 2026 in France. Videos of the incident quickly went viral on X, with many users reacting to the crowd surrounding the actor and invading her personal space.

Mobbed during Cannes appearance

The incident took place when Alia attended an event at the Bharat Pavilion during the Cannes Film Festival. In the viral clips of X circulating online, the actor can be seen surrounded by fans and photographers attempting to click selfies and pictures as security personnel tried to clear a path for her.

At first, Alia appeared patient and posed for photographs despite the crowd gathering around her. However, the situation soon became overwhelming as more people moved closer to the actor while she attempted to leave the venue.

In one of the X videos, Alia is heard saying, “Ho gaya abhi?” while trying to make her way through the crowd. The actor’s expression and reaction led many social media users to say she appeared visibly uncomfortable with the chaos around her.

Social media reacts to viral video

The viral clip sparked debate online, with many fans defending the actor and criticising the crowd behaviour. Several users pointed out how celebrities are often expected to remain calm even in uncomfortable public situations. Others said the incident highlighted the lack of personal space celebrities face during large international events.

At the same time, Alia’s Cannes appearances have continued to receive praise online for her fashion choices. The actor attended the festival as a global ambassador for a beauty brand and has already made headlines for multiple looks during the event.

Fashion moments continue to trend

During one of her Cannes appearances, Alia wore an ivory ensemble designed by Tarun Tahiliani, styled with a traditional nose ring that drew attention online. Earlier, she also made headlines for her pastel couture gown and icy blue red-carpet look, both of which received strong reactions from fashion fans on social media.

Despite the uncomfortable moment with the crowd, Alia continues to remain one of the most talked-about Indian celebrities at Cannes this year.
