A powerful earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale struck the Philippines on Sunday, leaving at least 19 people dead and more than 200 injured. Authorities have launched large-scale rescue and relief operations as emergency teams assess the extent of the damage across affected areas.

Videos shared on X showed damaged structures, cracked roads and frightened residents gathering in open spaces as aftershocks continued to rattle the region.
Rescue operations underway
Emergency response teams, military personnel and local authorities have been deployed to affected areas to assist survivors and search for those who may still be trapped.
Hospitals have been placed on high alert as medical workers treat hundreds of injured residents. Temporary shelters have also been set up for people displaced by the disaster.
