The Indian government has issued a fresh public health advisory urging travellers arriving from Ebola-affected countries to remain vigilant and isolate themselves if they develop symptoms associated with the virus.
The advisory, released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, comes as health authorities worldwide continue to monitor the Ebola outbreak affecting parts of Africa.
Officials stressed that India has not reported any confirmed Ebola cases and said the advisory is a precautionary measure aimed at strengthening surveillance and early detection.

Health Ministry outlines isolation guidelines
According to the advisory, individuals who have travelled from or transited through Ebola-affected countries within the last 21 days should closely monitor their health.
The ministry said anyone developing symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle pain, vomiting, diarrhoea or unexplained bleeding should immediately isolate themselves and inform local health authorities.
The government has also asked citizens to use the national health helpline, 1075, for guidance and assistance. “Early reporting can save lives and help prevent the spread of disease,” the ministry said in its advisory.
No confirmed cases in India
The latest advisory follows heightened public attention after reports of a suspected Ebola case involving a traveller returning from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
However, Gujarat Health Minister Praful Pansheriya recently confirmed that laboratory tests returned negative results for the virus.
He urged people not to panic and advised citizens to rely only on official information issued by health authorities. Officials have reiterated that there is currently no evidence of Ebola transmission within India.
Global outbreak remains under watch
The Ebola outbreak has prompted concern in several countries after hundreds of suspected infections were reported in affected regions.
The World Health Organization (WHO) had earlier declared the outbreak a public health emergency of international concern and warned countries sharing borders with affected areas to strengthen preparedness measures.
Although recent reports suggest the situation may be stabilising in some regions, health authorities continue to monitor new cases and trace exposed contacts. According to international health agencies, efforts to contain the outbreak remain ongoing, particularly in areas where transmission risks remain elevated.

Travel advisory remains in place
Citizens have already been instructed to refrain from traveling to places which are highly impacted by this health scare, such as Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan.
Experts have stressed the importance of awareness, early detection, and following the precautions to avoid any spread of diseases.
There being no cases identified within the country, it is assured that there is no reason for worry; nevertheless, individuals have been advised to be careful.
