K Annamalai, one of the BJP’s most prominent faces in Tamil Nadu, could be on the verge of a major political decision. Sources indicate that the former state BJP president is contemplating an exit from the party and may eventually launch his own political outfit, a move that could reshape opposition politics in the state.
The former IPS officer is expected to hold discussions with senior BJP leadership in Delhi, even as speculation over his future continues to intensify. While Annamalai has not publicly confirmed any decision, his recent remarks and political positioning have added fuel to the rumours.

According to NDTV, the reported developments come in the aftermath of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, where the BJP struggled to translate its growing visibility into electoral gains. Sources suggest that Annamalai believes his role within the party has diminished in recent months. Reports indicate that he was offered a Rajya Sabha berth, an offer he is said to have declined.
