A decision regarding the official residences of Karnataka’s top leaders has drawn attention amid ongoing political discussions in the state.
The arrangement will see Chief Minister Siddaramaiah remain at the official CM bungalow, while Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar will occupy another government-allotted house.
Siddaramaiah to continue at official CM residence
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will continue living at the official chief ministerial residence until 2028. The decision settles speculation over whether there would be any changes to the occupancy of the bungalow during the current government’s tenure, as per News18.

The official residence, known as Cauvery, has traditionally served as the home of Karnataka’s chief ministers and remains one of the most prominent government properties in Bengaluru.
Separate residence for DK Shivakumar
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar will instead move into another government residence. The report said arrangements have been made for him to occupy a separate official bungalow rather than the chief minister’s residence.
The housing decision comes amid frequent political speculation about leadership dynamics within the ruling Congress government. However, the report focuses on administrative arrangements concerning official accommodation rather than any changes in leadership.
