India has issued a fresh advisory urging its citizens to avoid travelling to Iran for now, citing the deteriorating security situation amid the escalating conflict in West Asia.

In a statement issued by the Indian Embassy in Tehran, Indian nationals planning to visit Iran have been advised to put their travel plans on hold until conditions improve.

The embassy said, “Indian nationals intending to travel to Iran for any purpose should postpone travel for the time being until the security environment improves.”

Embassy advises Indians in Iran to consider leaving

The advisory also addresses Indian citizens who are currently in Iran, asking them to assess the situation and consider leaving the country through available commercial flights.

According to the embassy, “Indian nationals already in Iran should consider temporarily exiting Iran, using available flight options.”

Those who decide to remain in Iran have been asked to remain alert and stay updated on the latest developments.

The advisory stated, “Indian nationals who choose to remain in Iran should exercise the highest possible level of caution. They should carefully monitor the news to maintain full situational awareness and should avoid locations seeing higher levels of military activity such as those along the southern coast of the country.”

The embassy has also requested Indian nationals in Iran who have not yet completed their registration to do so without delay. Those who are already registered have been advised to regularly check the embassy’s official website and social media channels for the latest updates and instructions.

Emergency helpline numbers and an email contact have also been shared for Indians requiring consular assistance.

Advisory follows renewed military escalation

The latest travel advisory comes as tensions across West Asia continue to intensify.
