Fuel prices across India remained unchanged on Thursday, June 11, after a series of increases pushed petrol and diesel rates to their highest levels since May 2022.
The latest revision came on May 25, when oil marketing companies (OMCs) raised petrol prices by ₹2.61 per litre and diesel prices by ₹2.71 per litre. The hike marked the fourth increase within less than two weeks, taking the cumulative rise since May 15 to nearly ₹7.5 per litre.
Fuel prices continue to stay elevated
In Delhi, petrol is being sold at ₹102.12 per litre, while diesel is priced at ₹95.20 per litre. Other major cities have also witnessed higher fuel costs following the recent revisions.

Kolkata recorded petrol prices at ₹113.51 per litre and diesel at ₹99.82 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol costs ₹111.21 per litre and diesel ₹97.83 per litre. Bengaluru residents are paying ₹110.89 per litre for petrol and ₹98.80 per litre for diesel.
According to the latest pricing data, petrol prices have increased by around 7.8%, while diesel rates have climbed approximately 8.6% since the recent round of revisions began.
West Asia conflict continues to impact energy markets
The latest fuel price adjustments have largely been linked to disruptions in global energy supplies caused by the ongoing conflict involving the US and Iran. The situation has affected shipments moving through the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil and gas transportation.
India depends significantly on energy imports from the Gulf region, making developments in West Asia particularly important for domestic fuel markets.
Union Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri expressed confidence that prices may ease in the coming months. He said, “Oil prices cannot remain at their current height for a very long time and are expected to fall in the months ahead.”
Puri also noted that “enough stocks are available” despite the ongoing conflict. Additional energy supplies from Canada and the United States are expected to help offset some of the pressure on imports, although he cautioned that the outlook could change if the conflict widens.
Crude oil prices rise after fresh us strikes
Global crude prices moved higher after reports of fresh US military strikes in Iran. According to Bloomberg, Brent crude climbed more than 2% to nearly $95.20 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate crude rose 2.6% to $92.34 a barrel.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said the US military had carried out a “secret mission” since May 2026 to move oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz despite Iranian actions in the region. He claimed that more than 100 million barrels of oil had bypassed the blockade, though there was no immediate independent confirmation of the figure.
