PM Modi has called for the strictest possible action against those responsible for the alleged NEET paper leak, saying that preventing such incidents is a “national responsibility.” His remarks were shared by Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju after the NDA Parliamentary Party’s ‘Mangal Milan’ meeting on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister also urged all stakeholders to work together to build a robust and foolproof examination system, according to Rijiju.
PM Modi urges united efforts to strengthen examination system
Addressing reporters after the meeting, Rijiju quoted the Prime Minister as saying that the integrity of competitive examinations must be protected through collective action.

“The PM called on NDA partners to remain united in supporting legislative business and appealed to opposition parties to work constructively in parliament, saying that while political differences may exist, all MPs have a shared responsibility to work for the country’s future and the welfare of its youth,” Rijiju said, quoting the Prime Minister.
He further said PM Modi highlighted that the Centre acted swiftly after reports of irregularities in the NEET examination surfaced.
“The government took immediate action upon receiving reports of the NEET paper leak, leading to arrests and swift action against those involved,” Rijiju relayed.
According to the minister, the Prime Minister also stressed that the re-examination was conducted without delay to ensure that students’ academic futures were protected.
NEET paper leak investigation
The alleged leak of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), one of India’s largest entrance examinations with over two million aspirants, sparked nationwide concern earlier this year. Following allegations that the question paper had been leaked before the exam, the test was cancelled in May and a re-examination was conducted late last month.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the alleged “kingpin” in the case, identifying him as a chemistry lecturer who was associated with the examination process of the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Meanwhile, the Union Education Ministry has also launched a dedicated website where people can report suspicious claims, unauthorised content and fraudulent activities linked to the NEET examination.
Opposition protests disrupt Parliament
The Prime Minister’s remarks came a day after large-scale protests over the alleged examination irregularities. Students, led by the satirical Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and raised concerns over alleged lapses in competitive examinations.
On the opening day of the Monsoon Session, Opposition protests over the alleged NEET paper leak and the Ram temple donation theft issue disrupted proceedings in both Houses of Parliament.
The CJP also said two of its leaders met Union Minister JP Nadda and submitted a letter outlining their demands after the government reached out to them. Confirming the meeting, the minister said it was held in a “cordial atmosphere”, while adding that the proposal for the discussion had come from the protesters.
