Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is already making headlines before its theatrical release, not only for its cinematic ambition but also for its premium pricing. The Odyssey IMAX ticket prices have climbed to record levels in several Indian cities, with the highest rates touching ₹3,100 in Mumbai and ₹2,500 in Delhi NCR. The film, which releases on July 17, has generated extraordinary demand among moviegoers eager to experience Nolan’s latest epic on the biggest screens available.
The film has been shot entirely using IMAX 70mm cameras, making it the first feature-length production to use the format throughout. That technical milestone has significantly boosted demand for IMAX screenings, resulting in unusually high ticket prices across multiplex chains.

IMAX experience remains central to the film’s appeal
Universal Pictures has positioned The Odyssey as a large-format cinematic event featuring an ensemble cast that includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway and Lupita Nyong’o.
Industry analysts believe The Odyssey IMAX ticket prices could remain elevated through the opening weekend as audiences continue to prioritise IMAX screenings over conventional formats. While premium pricing may limit accessibility for some viewers, exhibitors expect strong occupancy rates driven by Nolan’s loyal fan base and the film’s unique visual presentation.
