Passengers travelling through Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) later this month are advised to check their train schedules before leaving for the station, as several services, including Vande Bharat, Rajdhani and Tejas Rajdhani trains, will be cancelled, diverted or rescheduled between July 26 and July 28.
According to NFR, the temporary changes are being implemented to facilitate the commissioning of a Multi-Section Digital Axle Counter (MSDAC) at the New Jalpaiguri Yard under the Katihar Division. The upgraded signalling system is expected to improve train detection, operational safety and overall efficiency.

Which trains will be cancelled or partially cancelled?
As per Northeast Frontier Railway:
Train No. 55749/55750 (New Jalpaiguri–Haldibari–New Jalpaiguri Passenger) will remain cancelled on July 28.
Train No. 22301 (Howrah–New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express), departing on July 28, will terminate at Kishanganj. The service between Kishanganj and New Jalpaiguri will remain cancelled.
Train No. 22302 (New Jalpaiguri–Howrah Vande Bharat Express), scheduled for July 28, will originate from Kishanganj, with the New Jalpaiguri–Kishanganj section remaining cancelled.
Which premium trains will be diverted?
NFR said the following trains, commencing their journeys on July 27, will be diverted via Aluabari Road–Thakurganj–Siliguri–Gulma, bypassing New Jalpaiguri:
20504 New Delhi–Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express
12424 New Delhi–Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express
20505 Dibrugarh–New Delhi Rajdhani Express
12423 Dibrugarh–New Delhi Rajdhani Express
20501 Agartala–Anand Vihar Terminal Tejas Rajdhani Express
These trains will make a temporary halt at Siliguri Junction during the diversion.
Several long-distance trains have also been rescheduled:
14037 Silchar–New Delhi Express (July 27): Departure delayed by 2 hours, from 7:10 pm to 9:10 pm.
12510 Guwahati–SMVT Bengaluru Express (July 28): Departure revised from 6:15 am to 7:45 am.
13142 New Alipurduar–Sealdah Express (July 28): Departure shifted from 11:50 am to 12:50 pm.
15631 Barmer–Guwahati Express (July 26): May be regulated by approximately 60 minutes.

According to Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer, Northeast Frontier Railway, the signalling upgrade will strengthen train detection and improve operational safety.
