On Thursday, Karan Lal, one of the prominent names in limited-overs cricket in Bengal, especially in T20, smashed 145 off just 64 balls at a strike rate of nearly 200. With his carnage, Servotech Siliguri Strikers rolled on to a humongous 231 runs and defeated the Howrah Warriors by 73 runs.

Lal has remained one of the pillars of the Bengal middle order for some time. In the 2025/26 Syed Muhtaq Ali season, he played seven matches with a strike rate of 195.53 and with an average of 31.28, he smashed 219 runs, though consistency remained a problem for him. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored a total of 219 runs, which includes a remarkable century of 113 runs that stands out in the statistics. He remained the highest six-hitter for Bengal in the season, smashing 17 sixes.

In the match against Adamas Howrah Warriors, Karan Lal broke all the records and owned the record book. In the 15th over of the game, he smashed 32 runs to Writtick Chatterjee, which is the highest so far in the Pro T20 League. With his carnage with the sixes, he became the highest six-hitter in one season (22) and also became the highest individual run scorer of the league.

Siliguri’s bowlers dominated the contest, with Akhilesh Yadav claiming 3/19, while Shivamm Bharati (2/21) and Karan (2/29) played key roles in sealing a comprehensive 73-run victory.
