Bangladesh T20I captain Litton Das has been asked to appear before the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) disciplinary committee after travelling to China for medical treatment without informing the board in advance. The wicketkeeper-batter is alleged to have breached the BCB’s code of conduct by making the trip without prior approval.
BCB seeks explanation from Litton Das
Litton travelled to China while recovering from a calf injury that had ruled him out of Bangladesh’s recent cricket assignments. As a centrally contracted player, he was required to inform the BCB before seeking treatment overseas.

The board has now called him for a disciplinary hearing to explain the circumstances behind the trip. BCB officials believe the issue is related to a lack of communication rather than the treatment itself. The board is also waiting for a report from its medical committee before taking any further action.
Litton has reportedly submitted his explanation, which will be reviewed during the hearing along with the medical committee’s findings.
Decision to be taken after committee review
The BCB has not yet decided whether Litton will face any punishment. Officials have indicated that his previous disciplinary record will also be considered before a final decision is made.
Litton has represented Bangladesh for several years without any major disciplinary issues, and that could work in his favour. However, the board is keen to ensure that all centrally contracted players follow the required procedures regarding overseas travel and medical treatment.
The disciplinary committee will examine all the available information before announcing its verdict. Until then, no action has been taken against the Bangladesh captain.
