THIS batter beats Ishan Kishan, becomes costliest pick at Jharkhand T20 League auction

The inaugural Jharkhand T20 League auction witnessed intense bidding as franchises looked to secure the state’s top cricketing talent. While several established names went under the hammer, it was Mumbai Indians youngster Robin Minz who stole the spotlight by attracting the highest bid of the event, surpassing India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan.

Robin Minz emerges as top pick

Minz was the biggest attraction at the auction and was eventually signed by Koylanchal Super Kings. The wicketkeeper-batter has built a strong reputation in domestic cricket and has been regarded as one of Jharkhand’s brightest young prospects. His growing profile and recent performances ensured a fierce bidding contest among franchises.

Ishan Kishan, another major draw at the auction, was picked by Santhal Strikers. Despite being one of the most accomplished cricketers from the state, Kishan finished behind Minz in the bidding charts. The auction also saw notable names such as Virat Singh, Sushant Mishra, Md Kounain Quraishi and Shikhar Mohan secure contracts for the upcoming season.

Six teams gear up for inaugural season

The league is being organised by the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) in collaboration with SJ Uplift. Six franchises,Ranchi Titans, Jamshedpur Steelers, Chota Nagpur Royals, Koylanchal Super Kings, Dhanbad Diamonds and Santhal Strikers participated in the auction, each operating with a purse of Rs 50 lakh.

Officials believe the competition will serve as a valuable platform for emerging cricketers from Jharkhand. Young players will get the opportunity to share the field with experienced campaigners while gaining exposure in a competitive T20 setup.

The inaugural Jharkhand T20 League is set to begin on June 10 and is expected to showcase some of the best cricketing talent from the state over the course of the tournament.
