The club has instead completed a deal for West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville, bringing an end to weeks of speculation surrounding the Brazilian’s future. Throughout the summer, Raphinha maintained that his priority was to remain at Barcelona, with the latest development strengthening the likelihood that he will continue under new head coach Hansi Flick.
Raphinha transfer plans end as Al-Hilal change strategy
The Raphinha transfer story had dominated Barcelona’s summer window after Al-Hilal identified the Brazilian as one of their marquee targets.
The Saudi club were reportedly willing to match Barcelona’s asking price while also offering Raphinha a significantly improved salary package. Financially, the proposal was one of the most attractive available to the winger.

The Raphinha transfer speculation lost momentum after Al-Hilal reached an agreement to sign Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi club agreed to pay around £55 million, with additional performance-related bonuses potentially taking the deal higher. Summerville has already approved the transfer and is expected to complete his medical shortly.
The Dutch winger fills the position Al-Hilal had originally hoped Raphinha would occupy, effectively ending their pursuit of the Barcelona forward.
For Barcelona, the development removes one of the biggest uncertainties surrounding the squad ahead of the new season.
