Real Madrid have intensified their pursuit of RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande after seeing a €100 million offer turned down by the Bundesliga club, which continues to demand a much higher transfer fee for one of Europe’s brightest young talents.
Reports suggest Madrid’s proposal included €90 million as a fixed payment along with €10 million in performance-related add-ons. Leipzig, however, are believed to value the 19-year-old between €120 million and €130 million and are not prepared to lower their asking price at this stage.
Despite the rejection, talks between the two clubs have not come to a halt, with Madrid continuing discussions in an attempt to find common ground.
Real Madrid remain determined to complete the deal
Madrid’s willingness to submit a nine-figure offer highlights how highly the club rates Diomande after his impressive rise in Germany.

The Spanish giants are looking to strengthen their attacking options, and the versatile winger has emerged as one of their leading transfer targets. Comfortable on either flank, Diomande has attracted widespread attention following an outstanding debut campaign in the Bundesliga.
Whether Madrid decide to return with an improved offer remains one of the biggest questions of the ongoing transfer window.
Breakthrough season raised Diomande’s value
Diomande joined RB Leipzig from Leganés in a deal worth around €20 million before the start of last season. The move proved to be a major success as the teenager adapted quickly to German football. In 33 Bundesliga appearances, he scored 12 goals and registered nine assists.
Across all competitions, the young forward contributed 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 matches. His performances earned him the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award, further increasing interest from several European heavyweights.

PSG and Liverpool are also monitoring the winger
Real Madrid are not the only club attempting to secure Diomande’s signature. Paris Saint-Germain are also pushing to complete a deal and are reported to have already agreed personal terms with the winger on a contract that would run until 2031.
Earlier reports indicated that PSG had become the player’s preferred destination. However, Madrid’s involvement has added another layer to the negotiations. Spanish reports have since suggested that Diomande is also interested in the opportunity to play at the Santiago Bernabéu, leaving his final decision unresolved.

Liverpool have also explored a move in recent months and previously saw a significant offer rejected, although Madrid and PSG currently appear to be leading the race.
Leipzig hold a strong position in negotiations
RB Leipzig remain under little pressure to sell. Diomande is under contract until June 2030 and his agreement does not include a release clause, giving the Bundesliga club full control over any transfer discussions.

The proposed transfer could also benefit Leganés financially. The Spanish club reportedly retained a 10 percent share of the profit from any future sale. If Leipzig eventually receive a fee close to their reported valuation of €120 million, Leganés could earn close to €10 million.
For now, negotiations continue, with Madrid weighing whether to improve their bid enough to meet Leipzig’s valuation and move the transfer closer to completion.
