GTA V cheat service suffers breach, data of nearly 64,000 users leaked

Users of Atlas Menu, a well-known cheating platform for Grand Theft Auto V, may have had their personal information compromised following a significant cyberattack that exposed thousands of accounts. The breach has reportedly affected close to 64,000 users and raised fresh concerns about data security within third-party gaming services.

The incident was first flagged by the breach notification platform Have I Been Pwned (HIBP), which revealed that a large database linked to the service had been leaked online. The exposed information includes email addresses, usernames, encrypted passwords, IP addresses and customer support communications.

User information surfaces online

According to The Indian Express, the individual claiming responsibility for the breach uploaded the stolen database to GitHub, making the information publicly accessible. Security researchers believe the leak may have stemmed from a personal dispute involving an alleged scammer rather than a coordinated attack on the wider gaming community.

While the exact timeline of the breach remains unclear, the scale of the exposed data has attracted significant attention among cybersecurity experts and GTA V players alike.

At the time of publication, the Atlas Menu website was inaccessible, adding to the uncertainty surrounding the company’s response to the incident.

Security claims come under scrutiny

According to The Indian Express, the breach has drawn particular attention because Atlas Menu had promoted itself as a platform focused on privacy and security. Marketing material on the service previously highlighted secure authentication systems and advanced encryption methods designed to protect users.

However, the exposure of thousands of user records has cast doubt on those claims. It is currently unknown whether the leaked passwords could be cracked or whether additional sensitive information was stored within the compromised database.

Atlas Menu’s operators have not issued a public statement, and there is no confirmation on whether affected users have been informed about the breach.

Popular ‘Cheat Services’ in GTA V community

According to The Indian Express, Atlas Menu gained popularity among segments of the GTA V online community by offering tools that allowed players to bypass normal gameplay restrictions. The platform advertised features such as invisibility, enhanced movement abilities, flying across the game map and other modifications that provided competitive advantages.

The latest breach serves as a reminder of the risks associated with using unofficial third-party services, particularly those that require personal information and account registration.
