United States carried out fresh military strikes on multiple targets inside Iran after President Donald Trump vowed a forceful response to Tehran’s recent missile attack on American troops stationed in Jordan.
In a statement, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said its forces targeted several sites linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
“CENTCOM assets struck dozens of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets in Iran, including military command centers, missile and drone facilities, coastal surveillance and defense sites, and maritime capabilities.”

The military added that, “The strikes aimed to further diminish threats posed by Iran and its proxies to American forces, commercial shipping, and neighboring Gulf countries.”

Iranian state media reported that two people were injured after strikes hit Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz. It also said explosions were heard in Iran’s Khuzestan province.
Trump issues strong warning after Jordan base attack
The latest military action followed President Trump’s remarks at the White House, where he said Washington would respond to Iran’s missile attack on a US military base in Jordan.
“So it’s our turn,” Trump told reporters, adding that the US would “hit them very hard”.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump used even stronger language while describing the planned response.
“We are going to beat the f*king sht out of them. We’ll be hitting them hard. They’re going to get a beating,” he said.
Iran claims responsibility for missile launch
Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard said it launched missiles at Jordan’s Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, a key facility used by US forces in the region. The claim was carried by Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency.
Jordan’s military said it intercepted and destroyed five Iranian missiles before they reached their targets.
The US military later announced that American and Saudi fighter jets also struck logistics and weapons facilities in eastern Iraq following what it described as drone attacks on Saudi Arabia.
The Popular Mobilization Forces, a coalition of mainly Shiite Iran-backed armed groups operating under Iraq’s military command, said at least 20 fighters were killed and 32 others were injured in the overnight strikes.
According to two Iraqi militia officials who spoke to The Associated Press, six Iranian advisers were also killed.
US-Iran conflict shows no signs of easing
Trump and several of his allies have recently suggested that Iran is interested in resuming negotiations. However, Iran’s deputy foreign minister said on Tuesday that Tehran has not requested a return to diplomatic talks for more than two weeks.

Even after the missile attack in Jordan, Trump repeated his warning of further action while leaving the door open for future negotiations.
The current phase of the conflict began in February when the US and Israel launched a bombing campaign targeting Iran. Although a ceasefire was reached in June, it later collapsed as fighting resumed around the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran says is now under its control.
