West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Monday said he held a high-level administrative review meeting at Nabanna with senior bureaucrats and police officials to assess the state’s law and order and administrative situation.

In a post on X, the Chief Minister said the meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Dushyant Nariala, Home Secretary Sanghamitra Ghosh, Director General of Police Sidh Nath Gupta and Kolkata Police Commissioner Ajay Nand.

“Held a high-level Administrative Review Meeting at Nabanna today… to take current stock of the Law & Order and Administrative situation in the State of West Bengal,” Adhikari wrote on X. He further said that discussions focused on “key Administrative priorities to ensure the safety and prosperity of every citizen in West Bengal.”

“Our commitment to transparent and efficient Governance remains absolute,” the Chief Minister added.

The review meeting focused on several key administrative issues, including governance, public safety and the functioning of state agencies.

The Chief Minister said the age relaxation decision was taken because there had been no major recruitment in the state since 2015. “As proposed earlier, the upper age limit for government job examinations in West Bengal is being increased by five years,” Adhikari said.

The Cabinet also announced that West Bengal would formally join Ayushman Bharat. Officials said the required agreement process would be completed quickly.

The state government further decided to participate in several central welfare schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Vishwakarma Yojana.

The government also announced the implementation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in West Bengal.

On border security, the cabinet approved the process of transferring land required by the Border Security Force (BSF) following requests from the Union Home Ministry. The government said the handover process would begin immediately and should be completed within 45 days.

The Chief Minister also paid tribute to 321 BJP workers allegedly killed over the years and said the government would ensure justice for their families while taking responsibility for their welfare.
