US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, saying the United States (US) will respond with direct strikes on key infrastructure if any vessel is targeted in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, Trump declared that every attack on a ship in the strategic waterway would trigger US military action against bridges or power plants inside Iran, including sites near Tehran.

The warning comes as fighting between the two countries intensifies, with the US continuing its military campaign and diplomatic efforts showing little sign of progress.
Trump’s warning on Strait of Hormuz
Posting on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “From this point forward, any time the Islamic Republic of Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether it be by Missile, Rocket, Drone, or any other device or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT, including those located next to, or in, the Capital City of Tehran.”

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important maritime routes, carrying nearly 20 per cent of global oil and gas supplies. Any disruption in the narrow passage has the potential to affect energy markets and international trade.
The US and Iran have remained divided over the security of the waterway, with tensions escalating after the collapse of diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the conflict.

The latest warning comes as the United States carried out its 11th consecutive night of strikes against Iran.
The renewed fighting follows the breakdown of a ceasefire, pushing both sides deeper into the conflict. Reports indicate that discussions between Washington and Tehran have stalled, leaving little room for an immediate diplomatic breakthrough.
Oil prices rise amid supply concerns
Growing fears over the security of the Strait of Hormuz have continued to influence global energy markets.
According to the latest trading data, Brent crude climbed to around $94 per barrel after the ceasefire collapsed. Continued uncertainty over shipping through the waterway has also fuelled concerns about global energy supplies and price volatility.
Casualties reported in Iran
Iran says the fighting has caused significant civilian casualties since hostilities resumed.

According to the Iranian health ministry, at least 53 people have been killed, including six women and three children. State-run IRNA reported that nearly 600 others have been injured over the past 11 days.
Iran launches retaliatory attacks
Iran has responded to the US military campaign by launching multiple drone and missile attacks targeting Bahrain, Kuwait and other Gulf countries that host American military bases.
Meanwhile, the US is also considering further military action. Speaking from the Oval Office on Tuesday, Trump suggested there was little interest in holding talks at this stage. “No interest in meeting” he said.
Trump also said the US military could target the under-construction nuclear facility at Pickaxe Mountain, signalling that additional strikes remain under consideration as the conflict continues.
