Balochistan has reportedly declared itself an independent country as per a statement that has massively circulated across social media. The viral letter, issued under the name of “Republic of Balochistan,” claims that the region has declared independence from Pakistan. 

Looking further into the statement, it can be observed that the Balochistan Army has gained control over the majority (85%) of the territory. The Balochistan Army also declared that there will be a new national anthem, a new national flag, an independent administrative system, and their new national currency. 

As per the declaration, Balochistan has adopted its new national anthem, “Ma Chukain Balochani”, which translates to “We are the sons of Balochistan.” Baloch leader Mir Yar Baloch also shared a statement which read, “The patriotic people of the Republic of Balochistan have rejected Pakistan’s external presence.”

The document has sparked fresh discussion around the long-running unrest in the province. However, the claims made in the viral statement have not been officially confirmed.
