An Iranian newspaper has published an infographic naming 13 foreign political and military leaders it claims should be targeted in retaliation for the killing of Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The infographic appeared in Hamshahri, a newspaper published by authorities in Tehran, shortly after Iran’s new Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei issued his strongest public warning since taking office, Hindustan Times reported.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in US-Israeli strikes on February 28, the opening day of the ongoing conflict. In his first public message following his father’s funeral, Mojtaba Khamenei declared, “Vengeance is the will of our nation and must inevitably be carried out.”
He also warned, “These criminals, whose names appear on a list, will take to their graves the wish of a peaceful death in their beds.”
The criminal, disgraceful murderers of the martyred Leader, whose names are fully documented from the highest to the lowest ranks, will carry their dream of a peaceful death in bed to the grave.

Although Mojtaba Khamenei referred to a list of individuals, he did not publicly identify anyone. There has also been no official confirmation that the list published by Hamshahri represents the formal position of the Iranian government.

Iran has repeatedly accused several European governments of failing to condemn the US-Israeli military campaign. Tehran has also alleged that some European countries allowed US military aircraft to use their airspace during operations against Iran, claims that have contributed to growing diplomatic tensions.
Conflict continues to escalate
The publication comes as military exchanges between Iran and the United States continue around the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically important maritime route for global energy supplies.
The latest phase of the conflict followed an Iranian attack on a container ship in the Strait of Hormuz, after which the United States carried out multiple strikes on Iranian military infrastructure, including air defence systems, missile and drone facilities, radar installations, ammunition depots and Revolutionary Guard assets.
Iran later launched attacks towards Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Oman, countries that host US military facilities or are located close to the conflict zone. Missile sirens were reported in Bahrain, while Iranian state media acknowledged fresh explosions in several parts of the country.
UN warns of wider consequences
The Strait of Hormuz remains at the centre of the confrontation, with Iran insisting it should control shipping through the waterway, while the United States has pledged to maintain freedom of navigation for commercial vessels.
As diplomatic efforts continue through countries including Pakistan, Qatar and Egypt, concerns over a broader regional conflict have grown.
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres warned that a return to full-scale hostilities would have “catastrophic consequences” for the region and the global economy.
