The wait for Ramayana: Part 1’s trailer is almost over. Ahead of its worldwide release on July 24, the film’s makers have cleared an important step, getting approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The trailer has been given a ‘U’ certificate, meaning it’s suitable for audiences of all ages. The certification came through on July 15, just days before the film kicks off its global promotions.

Two trailer versions cleared by CBFC
According to the CBFC website, the board has approved two different cuts of the trailer. One runs 4 minutes and 15 seconds, while the other is exactly 4 minutes long.
They’re listed as ‘Trailer Ramayana 3D’ and ‘Theatrical Trailer-Ramayana 3D’, suggesting one version may be meant for digital platforms and the other for theatres.
With the certification process now done, the trailer is all set to release worldwide on July 24.
Star-studded cast
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana boasts a massive ensemble cast.
Ranbir Kapoor takes on the role of Lord Rama, while Sai Pallavi plays Sita. Kannada superstar Yash steps into the role of Ravana, and Sunny Deol appears as Lord Hanuman. Ravie Dubey plays Lakshman, while Rakul Preet Singh takes on Surpanakha and Kunal Kapoor plays Lord Indra.
Backed by a massive budget
Ramayana has reportedly been made on a massive budget of ₹4,000 crore, with music composed by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer.
The story will unfold across two parts. Ramayana: Part 1 is set to release in theatres during Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 on Diwali 2027.
The film is backed by Prime Focus Studios, DNEG, and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
