Bigg Boss is set for its biggest multi-language rollout yet. The reality television franchise will return this festive season with six regional editions launching across India, while former India captain Sourav Ganguly is set to make his hosting debut with the Bangla version. The announcement was made by JioStar on Tuesday, alongside the release of a coffee table book chronicling the show’s two-decade journey.

Six editions to launch from September

According to JioStar, the six editions: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bangla, will begin rolling out from September 2026 on the JioStar television network and JioHotstar.

The upcoming seasons will see Salman Khan, Vijay Sethupathi, Nagarjuna, Kichcha Sudeepa and Mohanlal return as hosts of their respective editions. Sourav Ganguly will host the Bangla edition, marking his first association with the Bigg Boss franchise.

The company said this is the first time all six language editions of the show will be launched during the same festive season.

Coffee table book released on Bigg Boss journey

Alongside the programming announcement, JioStar unveiled India’s Bigg Reality, a coffee table book that documents the franchise’s evolution over the last two decades.

The publication compiles data on audience participation, digital engagement and advertising trends associated with the reality show, while also looking at how the format has expanded across regional markets.

Company shares viewership and engagement data

The six-language editions of Bigg Boss collectively reached more than 500 million viewers in 2025 and generated over 438 billion viewing minutes. According to the company, engagement across the franchise grew 47 per cent year-on-year.

The company also said that viewers cast more than 9.32 billion votes and exchanged 43 million live chats on JioHotstar during the season. It added that around six in every 10 viewers watched the show’s 24×7 live feed.

The franchise generated over 1.7 billion social media engagements and 30 million user-generated memes in 2025.

Advertiser participation highlighted

The company said more than 625 advertisers across 46 categories, including 49 first-time advertisers, partnered with Bigg Boss during the 2025 season through sponsorships, branded tasks and in-show integrations.

The franchise reaches over 200 million viewers in Hindi-speaking markets and more than 300 million viewers across southern India, making it one of the country’s largest multilingual reality television properties.

The six editions of Bigg Boss are scheduled to premiere from September, while India’s Bigg Reality is now available through JioStar.
