Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Peddi gets off to a blockbuster start

Ram Charan’s much-anticipated sports drama Peddi has made a solid start at the box office, backed by strong advance bookings and high audience interest across multiple markets. The film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana and co-starring Janhvi Kapoor, hit theatres on June 4 and has emerged as one of the biggest Telugu releases of the year.

Ahead of its release, the film had already generated significant momentum through advance sales. According to booking data quoted by NDTV, Peddi sold more than 3.8 lakh tickets nationwide before release, with the Telugu version accounting for the majority of the demand. Advance bookings crossed Rs 15 crore gross when block bookings were included, reflecting strong anticipation among moviegoers.

Advance bookings set the stage

The film’s pre-release business was equally impressive overseas. As per NDTV profit ,Trade reports indicated that Peddi crossed Rs 35 crore in worldwide advance bookings before release, positioning it for a major opening. Strong ticket sales were reported across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and international markets, particularly North America.

Positive early audience response

Day 1 collection trends

According to NDTV, trade trackers reported that Peddi had already collected more than Rs 5 crore net in India during the early hours of its opening day, with final day-one figures expected to be substantially higher as evening and night shows conclude. Industry observers believe the strong advance sales and positive word-of-mouth could help the film maintain momentum through its opening weekend.

Featuring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles, Peddi marks Ram Charan’s return to theatres after Game Changer and has opened amid considerable expectations from fans and the trade alike.
