The Delhi woman’s murder case took a significant turn after police arrested a 52-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, three days after he allegedly killed his wife inside their Seelampur residence. According to investigators, the accused, identified as Salim, remained on the run while continuously changing locations across Uttar Pradesh before being tracked down. Police said the victim was found critically injured inside her home on Thursday and was declared dead after being taken to hospital.

Police launched a massive search operation after the accused disappeared immediately following the incident. Multiple teams were formed to trace his movements using CCTV footage, technical surveillance and local intelligence.
Investigators said Salim travelled through several cities, including Rampur, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur and Lucknow, before returning to Moradabad. He was eventually arrested near the railway station, bringing the three-day manhunt in the Delhi woman murder case to an end.
Officials said the accused repeatedly changed his location in an attempt to avoid arrest but was eventually cornered through coordinated efforts by Delhi Police.

During questioning, Salim allegedly admitted to attacking his wife after a heated argument. Police claimed he suspected his wife, who worked at a garment factory, of being involved in an extramarital relationship with a colleague.
According to investigators, the argument escalated on Thursday, after which the accused allegedly attacked her multiple times with a pair of scissors before fleeing the house.
The Delhi woman’s murder case has once again highlighted how domestic disputes and suspicion can lead to violent crimes. Police said the alleged murder weapon, along with blood-stained clothes, was recovered based on information provided by the accused.

Investigators are continuing to gather forensic evidence while recording statements from family members and neighbours. Police said the recovered weapon and clothing have been sent for forensic examination.

The Delhi woman’s murder case will now proceed through the legal process, with police expected to file a detailed chargesheet after completing the investigation. Authorities said all available evidence will be presented before the court to establish the sequence of events surrounding the alleged crime.
