The father of Siya Goyal, one of the accused in the Ketan Agarwal murder case, has appealed for a fair investigation, saying his daughter should be “hanged if found guilty” while alleging that his family is being repeatedly targeted despite cooperating with authorities.
Speaking to reporters in Pune, Praveen Goyal broke down as he described the emotional toll the investigation has taken on his family. His remarks came days after Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials conducted a raid at his business premises.

Why did Siya Goyal’s father make the appeal?
Praveen Goyal said he had complete faith in the judicial process and would cooperate fully with investigators.
“We are being punished in place of my daughter. I urge that she must be hanged if found guilty. I stand with the judiciary and the law, and I will fully cooperate with the investigation,” he said.
However, he appealed to authorities not to penalise his family for the allegations against his daughter.

“It feels as if we are being killed gradually. My family is suffering because of this. I have been under stress for a long time,” he said.
Addressing the recent FDA action, Goyal said officials collected four food samples from his shop on July 14. According to him, the issue relates to the renewal of the shop’s licence, which has already been applied for. He clarified that the shop had been voluntarily kept closed and had not been sealed.
What is the Ketan Agarwal murder case?
Police have arrested Siya Goyal, 20, and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary in connection with the murder of Ketan Agarwal, who died during a trek to Lohagad Fort near Lonavala on June 18.
Investigators initially treated the death as an accident but later alleged that the two accused conspired to kill Agarwal, a director at his family’s real estate firm, before pushing him off a cliff months ahead of his scheduled wedding.

According to the police investigation, Siya Goyal’s repeated insistence on visiting Lohagad Fort, the disappearance of Agarwal’s passport before a planned Bali trip, and CCTV footage allegedly showing a hooded man following the couple are among the key pieces of evidence being examined.
