Netflix has revealed a major update to its mobile app experience as part of its APAC Product Innovation Showcase, introducing a new short-form video feature called ‘Clips’ and outlining ambitious plans to expand its gaming ecosystem. The company says the changes are designed to make content discovery easier while offering subscribers more ways to engage with entertainment beyond movies and TV shows.
Netflix introduces ‘Clips’ for faster content discovery
At the heart of the update is ‘Clips’, a personalised vertical video feed that allows users to browse short snippets from Netflix shows, films and specials. Similar to the short-form video format popular on social media platforms, the feature aims to help users quickly discover content they may want to watch.
Users can save titles to their watchlist, share clips with friends, or jump directly to a show’s page from the feed. Netflix says recommendations within Clips will be tailored based on viewing habits and user interactions.
New mobile experience rolling out across Asia-Pacific
The redesigned mobile interface is already available in India, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and the Philippines, with launches planned for South Korea and Japan in July. More APAC markets are expected to receive the update in the coming months.

A key part of this push is Netflix Playground, a dedicated section for children’s games and interactive experiences. The company announced that a new collection of mini-games based on K-pop Demon Hunters will launch on June 20.
