During the visit, Doval met Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu. The two leaders reviewed various aspects of the India-Russia strategic partnership and discussed issues of mutual interest.

The meeting provided an opportunity to assess ongoing cooperation in areas linked to security, defence and broader bilateral engagement. India and Russia have maintained close ties across multiple sectors, and security dialogue remains an important component of the relationship, according to Hindustan Times.

The interaction also took place against the backdrop of continuing international security challenges and evolving geopolitical dynamics.

Discussions with the Myanmar leadership

Doval also held talks with Myanmar’s military leader, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. The discussions focused on matters concerning bilateral cooperation and regional developments.

India and Myanmar share a long land border and have worked together on issues related to connectivity, security and border management. Engagement between the two countries remains significant due to shared strategic interests and regional considerations.

The meeting in Moscow offered another platform for both sides to exchange views on developments affecting the region and explore avenues for continued cooperation.
