Ryan Ten Doeschate has returned to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) setup after ending his tenure as India’s assistant coach. The former Netherlands all-rounder has been appointed as the franchise’s Head of Cricket Strategy, taking charge of cricket operations across the Knight Riders’ global teams.

The appointment marks another chapter in Ryan Ten Doeschate’s long association with KKR, where he has enjoyed success both as a player and a coach. His new role will focus on strengthening the franchise’s long-term cricketing vision across multiple leagues.

Ryan Ten Doeschate to oversee KKR’s global cricket operations

As Head of Cricket Strategy, Ryan Ten Doeschate will lead scouting, player recruitment, squad planning and performance analysis for all Knight Riders franchises around the world. He will work closely with the coaching and analytics teams to create a unified cricketing philosophy across the group’s global network.

Apart from his strategic responsibilities, Ryan Ten Doeschate will also join the coaching staff of Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the ILT20 and Los Angeles Knight Riders in Major League Cricket. His experience in international and franchise cricket is expected to play a key role in developing talent across the Knight Riders system.

Ryan Ten Doeschate continues successful association with KKR

Ryan Ten Doeschate first joined KKR as a player in 2011 and remained with the franchise until 2015. He was part of the IPL-winning squads in 2012 and 2014 before returning as a coach in 2022. He also contributed to KKR’s support staff during the team’s IPL 2024 title-winning campaign.

Speaking after his appointment, Ryan Ten Doeschate said he was excited to begin the new role and contribute to the continued growth of the Knight Riders’ global cricket programme. He said he looked forward to working on player development, scouting and long-term planning.
