Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi capped off a remarkable IPL 2026 campaign by emerging as one of the tournament’s biggest individual stars.

While Rajasthan Royals fell short of reaching the final, the 15-year-old’s performances brought him both accolades and a substantial financial reward.

A season filled with runs and records

Sooryavanshi enjoyed a dream campaign with the Rajasthan Royals, finishing as the highest run-scorer of IPL 2026. The left-handed batter amassed 776 runs in 16 innings at a staggering strike rate of 237.31, making him one of the most destructive players of the season.

His aggressive batting also saw him rewrite records. During the playoffs, he surpassed Chris Gayle’s long-standing record for the most sixes in a single IPL season. The youngster’s fearless approach became one of the defining stories of the tournament and earned praise from several former cricketers.

How much did he earn?

According to NDTV, Sooryavanshi earned over ₹2.50 crore during the season. His earnings included his Rajasthan Royals contract, match fees, and prize money collected through individual awards.

The youngster had been retained by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.10 crore. In addition to that amount, he received match fees throughout the campaign and collected several cash rewards for his standout performances.

Awards added to his earnings

The Rajasthan Royals batter walked away with multiple honours at the end of the tournament. He secured the Orange Cap after finishing as the leading run-scorer of IPL 2026.

Reports also stated that he received several individual awards during the season, adding significantly to his overall earnings. His performances regularly placed him among the top performers of matches, helping him collect additional prize money through the tournament.

A breakout star despite RR’s exit

Although the Rajasthan Royals were unable to lift the trophy, Sooryavanshi’s performances ensured he remained one of the biggest talking points of IPL 2026.

His season featured explosive knocks, consistent run-scoring, and record-breaking six-hitting. The campaign not only established him as one of the brightest young talents in Indian cricket but also turned his maiden full IPL season into a highly rewarding one, both on the field and financially.
