Ferrari unveils Luce: Here’s all you need to know about the luxury carmaker’s first electric vehicle

Ferrari has officially stepped into the electric vehicle era with the launch of the Luce, its first all-electric production car. The luxury EV combines futuristic styling, high-end technology and Ferrari’s signature performance DNA while aiming to attract younger and tech-focused customers.

Ferrari’s first EV marks a major shift

The Luce represents a historic moment for Ferrari, a company long associated with roaring combustion engines and high-performance sports cars. Unlike Ferrari’s traditional two-seater sports models, the Luce arrives as a four-door, five-seat electric grand tourer.

Reports suggest the EV was developed with input from LoveFrom, the design studio founded by former Apple design chief Jony Ive. Ferrari has positioned the car as a blend of performance, luxury and modern technology.

Powerful quad-motor setup

Ferrari’s first electric car comes with a four-motor powertrain producing more than 1,000 horsepower. The Luce can reportedly accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in around 2.5 seconds and reach speeds above 310 kmph, as per the Indian Express.

The EV also offers all-wheel drive and advanced torque distribution technology to improve performance and handling. Ferrari claims the Luce delivers the kind of driving excitement customers expect from the brand despite being fully electric.

Battery, range and charging details

The Luce is powered by a massive 122kWh battery pack. Ferrari claims the car can deliver a driving range of more than 500 kilometres on a full charge.

The EV also supports ultra-fast charging speeds of up to 350kW, allowing the battery to recharge quickly. Reports indicate Ferrari focused heavily on battery placement and aerodynamics to maintain balance and driving dynamics.

Futuristic design with luxury touches

The Luce features a design language unlike previous Ferraris. The car uses a large glass-heavy exterior design combined with smooth body lines and aerodynamic detailing.

Inside, Ferrari has mixed digital technology with physical controls and premium materials like leather and aluminium. The cabin reportedly includes a minimalist dashboard and a large digital interface while still maintaining traditional Ferrari-inspired styling cues.

Price and launch timeline

Ferrari has priced the Luce at around $640,000. Global deliveries are expected to begin in late 2026.

The launch comes at a time when several luxury automakers are slowing their EV plans due to weaker demand. Ferrari, however, appears confident that affluent buyers will still be interested in high-end electric performance cars.
