Pokemon Champions mobile launch set for June 17

XThe Pokemon Company is bringing Pokemon Champions to smartphones later this month, expanding the battle-focused game beyond Nintendo’s console ecosystem and opening the doors to a wider player base.

The company has announced that Pokemon Champions will launch on Android and iOS devices on June 17. The game first debuted on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 earlier this year and quickly established itself as a competitive battler for Pokemon fans.

With the mobile launch now confirmed, players will be able to continue their battles on the go through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Pre-registration for the mobile version is already underway.

Cross-platform progression comes to mobile

One of the key features arriving with the smartphone version is support for cross-platform save transfers.

According to The Pokemon Company, players who already own the game on Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 will be able to carry over their progress to Android and iOS devices by linking the same Nintendo Account. This allows trainers to switch between console and mobile without losing their battle records, teams or progression.

The move is expected to make the competitive experience more accessible for players who regularly alternate between gaming platforms.

Limited-time rewards for early players

To celebrate the mobile rollout, The Pokemon Company is launching a special in-game reward campaign available across all supported platforms.

Players who log into the game after June 17 will receive a special Raichu alongside two exclusive Mega Stones — Raichunite X and Raichunite Y. The rewards will remain available until September 1, 2026, and can be claimed through the in-game mailbox. According to the company, the promotional Raichu is inspired by the Pokemon’s long-standing presence in competitive battles.

The two Mega Stones introduce unique forms exclusive to Pokemon Champions. Mega Raichu X features the Electric Surge Ability, automatically creating Electric Terrain when entering battle. Mega Raichu Y comes equipped with No Guard, ensuring that moves such as Thunder and Thunder Wave connect with complete accuracy.

Expanding the competitive Pokemon experience

The mobile launch represents the latest step in The Pokemon Company’s efforts to broaden access to competitive Pokemon battles.

By combining cross-platform progression with exclusive launch rewards, the company is aiming to attract both existing Nintendo players and newcomers looking for a battle-centric Pokemon experience on mobile devices.

With the June 17 release approaching, Pokemon Champions is set to become available to players across Nintendo consoles, Android smartphones and iPhones, further strengthening the franchise’s presence in the mobile gaming market.
