The West Bengal government has announced a major reshuffle in the state and Kolkata Police administration, transferring 33 IPS and WBPS officers across key positions.

Among the most significant changes, Supratim Sarkar has been shifted from the post of Additional Director General (ADG), CID and appointed as ADG, Telecommunications. The reshuffle also brings changes to the leadership of the CID, STF, Intelligence Branch, Traffic, and several district police units, including Bidhannagar, Darjeeling, Cooch Behar and Baruipur.

Supratim Sarkar has been relieved of his responsibilities as ADG, CID and has been posted as ADG, Telecommunications.

Meanwhile, Natarajan Ramesh Babu, who was serving as Director General, Correctional Services, has been given additional responsibility as Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG & IGP), CID.

Bidhannagar gets a new Police Commissioner

The reshuffle also brings a change in the leadership of Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate.

Amit Kumar Rathore has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police (CP), Bidhannagar, replacing Tripurari Atharva.

Tripurari Atharva has been transferred and posted as ADG, Traffic and Road Safety.

Changes in Intelligence Branch, STF and North Bengal

Several senior officers have been assigned new responsibilities across specialised police units.

Vishal Garg has been appointed as ADG & IGP, Intelligence Branch (IB).

Praveen Tripathi, who was serving as IG, Special Task Force (STF), has been posted as IG, Home Guards.

Sudhir Kumar Neelakantam has taken charge as IG, STF.

Sukesh Kumar Jain has been appointed as IGP, North Bengal.

New postings in Baruipur Police District

The reshuffle also includes changes in the Baruipur Police District.

Atish Biswas, who was serving as Additional Superintendent of Police, Purba Medinipur, has been appointed as Additional SP (Zonal), Baruipur Police District, replacing Pinaki Dutta.

Pinaki Dutta has been posted as Additional SP, DIB, Baruipur Police District.

Darjeeling, Cooch Behar and STF officers reassigned

The state government has also announced new appointments in several districts.

Y. Sreekanth Jagannath Rao has been appointed Superintendent of Police (SP), Darjeeling, replacing Pratiksha Jharkharia. He was previously serving as Deputy Commissioner, Detective Department, Kolkata Police.

Siddhartha Dhapola has been posted as SP, STF.

Amlan Ghosh has been appointed SP, STF, North Bengal.

Manish Joshi has been named the new SP of Cooch Behar, replacing Yashpreet Singh.
