Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has sharply criticised US President Donald Trump, calling his signature on the interim agreement between Washington and Tehran “worthless and invalid” amid continuing US military strikes on Iranian targets.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Khamenei said the repeated violations of the memorandum of understanding had stripped the agreement of any credibility. His remarks came as the conflict between the two countries intensified, with both diplomatic ties and military tensions deteriorating.

Earlier in the day, an Iranian negotiator announced that Tehran was suspending its commitments under the interim deal. The decision followed a series of US strikes this month that reportedly left at least 50 people dead and more than 500 others injured.
Khamenei accuses US of breaching commitments
Khamenei said the latest developments exposed what he described as the United States’ true intentions.
“The American enemy seeks to incite war and bear its most serious consequences. It should know that the dear Iranian nation and the axis of resistance have unforgettable lessons to offer it,” he said, referring to the US as “Satan.”
He also accused Washington of failing to honour the agreement signed last month, saying the repeated breaches reflected America’s “dishonesty, irrationality, unreliability, and malicious nature.”
“Coercion, totalitarianism, and brutality are inseparable components of the US creed and doctrine,” Khamenei added.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi also confirmed that Tehran had stopped implementing the commitments outlined in the interim agreement.
“The US has violated its commitments under the deal that was signed about a month ago, and now Iran is no longer implementing them,” Gharibabadi told state television.
US continues seventh consecutive night of strikes
The US Central Command said its forces carried out a seventh straight night of military operations early Saturday. According to the military, the strikes targeted surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage facilities, and maritime capabilities.

Meanwhile, the confrontation around the Strait of Hormuz has grown more intense, placing one of the world’s most important energy routes at the centre of the conflict. The waterway has historically handled about one-fifth of global crude oil shipments.
The continuing attacks have also raised concerns over civilian safety and damage to critical infrastructure, including desalination plants that supply drinking water. With hostilities showing no signs of easing, global markets remain on alert over the potential impact on energy supplies and international trade.
