An exceptional and multilayer security setup has been made by the Centre for the NEET 2026 re-test, with the use of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), military logistics help, and other arrangements to make sure that the confidentiality of the examination papers is maintained before the June 21 test.
The decision has been taken in view of the fact that the Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed the CRPF and CISF to take care of the security aspect of the transfer of question papers and OMR sheets after the test. It has been taken in consideration the security concerns of one of the most prestigious entrance tests in India.

Multi-city network under tight security
Sources said confidential examination materials will be moved from origin hubs in Hyderabad and Ahmedabad to nearly 551 hub cities through a hub-and-spoke logistics model involving multiple transit stages.
The transportation network will include origin hubs, intermediate logistics centres and final delivery points, with both air and road transport being used to move examination materials.
To strengthen security, CAPF personnel will function as a second layer of protection at airports, helipads, logistics hubs and other critical transit locations. The deployment is expected to begin on June 11 and continue until June 19, covering the movement of question papers to examination centres nationwide.
Air Force support for sensitive cargo
In one of the most significant features of the security plan, CRPF and CISF personnel will accompany confidential consignments aboard aircraft and helicopters operating between logistics hubs.

Sources said the Ministry of Defence has been requested to facilitate necessary clearances for CAPF personnel travelling on Indian Air Force aircraft carrying examination materials.
Special protocols have also been established for armed personnel. Security staff carrying service weapons will be required to deposit them before boarding military aircraft, with arrangements made for secure storage and return upon reaching their destination. The arrangement reflects the government’s attempt to create a tightly monitored chain of custody for every stage of the examination process.
Dedicated coordination mechanism
To make the process more streamlined, nodal officers have been assigned by the CRPF and CISF offices to coordinate with NTA and the Department of Posts.
At the state level, Single Points of Contact (SPoCs) will be assigned to aid communication between the postal department and security agencies.

Reverse logistics operations will begin right after the examination held on June 21 for collecting and transporting OMR sheets and other confidential documents from examination centers.
According to sources, these logistics operations will start immediately after the completion of the exam on June 21 evening. All departments under the Ministry of Home Affairs have been directed to extend their complete cooperation for conducting this re-exam that will have one of the largest-ever security cover for a national entrance test.
