The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), under the IndiaAI Mission, has introduced a free online Artificial Intelligence (AI) course called YUVA AI to help more people understand the basics of the technology.

The programme is available through government-backed learning platforms, including FutureSkills Prime and iGOT Karmayogi. It is part of a larger initiative to provide foundational AI knowledge to one crore people across the country as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly relevant in education, workplaces and everyday life.

Who can apply?

The course is open to anyone who can read and write, and no prior knowledge of AI is required.

School and college students, teachers, working professionals, entrepreneurs, homemakers and others interested in learning about AI can enrol. The lessons have been designed in simple language, making them suitable even for first-time learners.

The programme takes around 4.5 hours to complete and is offered free of cost.

What does the course cover?

The course introduces learners to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, including how AI works, where it is used and how it can be applied responsibly.

It also explains safe AI practices, ethical concerns, real-life examples from India and career opportunities linked to the growing technology sector.

As AI continues to find applications across industries such as banking, healthcare, education, media, manufacturing and information technology, the programme aims to help participants develop a basic understanding of a skill that is becoming increasingly important in many professions.

Certificate after completion

Learners who complete all the modules and assessments will receive an official Government of India certificate.

The certificate can be added to resumes, LinkedIn profiles or other professional portfolios to demonstrate foundational knowledge of artificial intelligence.

To enrol, visit the YUVA AI for ALL page on FutureSkills Prime and click on “Enrol” or “Start Learning.” Users can either create a free account or sign in if they already have one.

After completing the profile, learners can begin the course immediately. Once all lessons and assessments are successfully finished, the certificate will be issued.
