The International Cricket Council (ICC) has reportedly finalised the schedule for the 2027 ODI World Cup, providing greater clarity on the international future of Indian veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The tournament is expected to be held across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia in October and November 2027, marking the next major target for India’s experienced stars.
With both Rohit and Kohli having stepped away from certain formats in recent years, their ODI commitments have become a major point of discussion. The confirmation of the World Cup window now gives Indian cricket a defined timeline as selectors, team management and players begin planning for the marquee event.

An Espncricinfo Reports suggest the tournament will run for around 46 days, making it one of the biggest editions in the competition’s history.

India is set to play a limited number of ODI series before the 2027 World Cup, making every assignment crucial for squad building. The upcoming matches against Afghanistan, England and other opponents will help determine the core group for the tournament.
