Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Tim David has been penalised by the BCCI following a controversial gesture during RCB’s thrilling IPL 2026 clash against the Mumbai Indians in Raipur. The incident took place during the emotional celebrations after Bengaluru sealed a dramatic victory.

The controversy came moments after RCB completed a tense win over the Mumbai Indians in one of the most exciting matches of the season. Videos shared online appeared to show David making an inappropriate hand gesture while celebrating near the dugout with teammates.

The incident overshadowed an important victory for Bengaluru, which climbed to the top of the IPL 2026 points table after the result. On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians suffered a major setback in their playoff hopes.
