India will have another packed day at the 2026 Commonwealth Games on Saturday, July 25, with athletes competing in gymnastics, swimming, para swimming, lawn bowls, boxing and 3×3 wheelchair basketball. Several Indian contenders will be aiming to progress to the next round or secure places in medal events.
Commonwealth Games 2026 Day 3: Gymnastics and swimming in focus
The day’s action begins with the women’s artistic gymnastics team final and individual qualification. Pranati Nayak, Protistha Samanta, Eshitaa Sunil Rewale, Nishka Agarwal and Riddhi Sharma will represent India.
In swimming, Dhakshan Shashikumar will compete in the men’s 400m freestyle heats, with the final scheduled later in the day if he qualifies. Srihari Natraj will also be in action in the men’s 50m backstroke, looking to book his place in the final.

Para swimmer Chaitanya Vishwas Kulkarni will contest the men’s S14 200m freestyle heats and could return for the final if he advances.
Commonwealth Games 2026 Day 3:Boxing, lawn bowls and wheelchair basketball
Boxer Sachin Siwach will begin his campaign in the men’s 60kg Round of 32 against Canada’s Keoma Al-Ahmadieh.

Nigeria dominated the Women’s Lightweight Para Powerlifting podium as Esther Nworgu claimed gold with a Games record lift of 123kg, finishing ahead of compatriot Esther Oyema.

In lawn bowls, Putul Sonowal will play in the men’s singles sectional match, while Rupa Rani Tirkey and Pinky Singh will face Tonga’s Paris Baker and Milkha Nathan in the women’s pairs event.

India’s women’s wheelchair 3×3 basketball team will also take on Wales in an important group-stage match as the country looks to continue its strong start to the Games across multiple disciplines. Saturday will be crucial as several Indian athletes look to move closer to medal contention.
