The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has issued a notice to Leaps and Bounds Pvt Ltd, seeking details related to its properties in the city.
What does the notice seeks?
According to reports, the notice has been sent by the building department of the civic body. The company has been asked to appear before officials with key documents, including sanctioned building plans, approved layouts and other relevant papers tied to the properties in question.
Officials indicated that the notice has been served under Section 401 of the municipal building rules. The step is meant to assess whether the constructions comply with approved plans and regulations.

Properties under scanner
Civic sources said the properties mentioned in the notice include a residence on Harish Mukherjee Road and a multi-storey building near Kalighat crossing. These locations are now part of the verification process initiated by the authorities.
Administrative move or political signal?
The development has drawn attention in political circles. The Kolkata Municipal Corporation is currently run by the Trinamool Congress, and the building department falls under Mayor Firhad Hakim.

The property in question is knowingly christened ‘Shantiniketan’. The building is known to be the residence of TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee.
