BJP Rajya Sabha MP Rahul Sinha on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the opposition Trinamool Congress over alleged corruption, post-poll violence, and law-and-order issues in West Bengal. Speaking at a press conference at the BJP state headquarters in Kolkata, the Rajya Sabha MP said the recent Assembly election results showed that ‘major political change’ was possible in Bengal.
Addressing reporters at the BJP office on Murlidhar Sen Lane, the former Bengal BJP president thanked voters. He said, “The people of Bengal have shown that a united society can bring political change in the state.”
BJP targets Trinamool over corruption, violence
Rahul Sinha accused the erstwhile Trinamool Congress government of corruption at multiple levels, from recruitment-related irregularities to alleged financial scams involving public money.
He claimed, “Corruption had spread across the entire administrative structure. Investigative agencies will expose those responsible.”
The BJP leader also raised allegations of post-poll violence in several districts. He alleged that BJP workers had faced attacks, vandalism, and threats after the election results.

According to him, “The BJP believes in democracy and peace. Legal steps will be taken regarding every incident of violence against party workers.”
He further alleged that several people had been forced to leave their localities following political clashes.
Remarks on infiltration and police role
During the press conference, Rahul Sinha also spoke about alleged infiltration and demographic changes in the border districts of the state.
He claimed that attempts were being made to alter Bengal’s demographic balance through illegal infiltration and said the BJP would continue political movements on the issue.

The BJP MP also criticised what he described as a “cut money and extortion culture” across the state. He alleged that corruption networks operated in multiple sectors, including transport and local business systems.
On the role of the police administration, Sinha alleged that law enforcement agencies had earlier faced political pressure. He said, “Police should work impartially and strictly according to law.”
Concluding his remarks, Rahul Sinha said the BJP believed in the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and stressed the need for a ‘double-engine government’ for West Bengal’s development and economic growth, which has now been fulfilled.
