‘I don’t like it’: Trump slams Iran response, warns of more military action; says ‘they will be laughing no longer’

President Donald Trump on Sunday rejected Iran’s latest reply to the US proposal aimed at ending the conflict, hours after Tehran sent its response through Pakistani intermediaries.

Trump posted on Truth Social that he had read the response from Iran’s “so-called ‘Representatives’” and said, “I don’t like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” He did not elaborate on what in the Iranian reply he found objectionable.

Tehran’s answer travelled via Pakistan

Iran’s response focused on ending hostilities across the region, including Lebanon, and on ensuring safe shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

The proposal came after Washington had suggested that the conflict should stop before any broader talks on Iran’s nuclear programme.

A Pakistani official told Reuters that Islamabad, which has been helping mediate, passed Iran’s response to the US.

The US president followed with a sharper threat and a tighter clock

Trump also sharpened his warning on Iran’s military and nuclear position.

In an interview aired Sunday, he said the US could strike “every single target” in Iran within two weeks and described the Islamic republic as already “militarily defeated.”

He added that Washington had completed “probably 70 percent” of its intended targets inside Iran and could move against the rest if negotiations failed.

Iran’s enriched uranium has now emerged as the clearest red line

Separately, Trump said the US was monitoring Iran’s highly enriched uranium and warned that anyone approaching it would be targeted. He said the material was under constant surveillance.

Iran’s foreign ministry has said the uranium will not be transferred and remains part of its sovereign right to domestic enrichment.

Iran is estimated to possess more than 400 kg of uranium enriched to 60 percent purity.
