Air India is expanding its presence in the Canadian market with the launch of Air India flights on the Mumbai-Toronto route and a major upgrade to its Delhi-Toronto operations. The airline announced that it will introduce a seasonal non-stop service between Mumbai and Toronto from October 25, 2026, while deploying newer aircraft on several Delhi-Toronto flights during the winter schedule.
The expansion will increase travel options for passengers flying between India and Canada and boost premium seating capacity across the network.

Air India Mumbai-Toronto flights to begin in October
The new flights on the Mumbai-Toronto route will operate three times a week between October 25, 2026, and March 26, 2027. The airline said it will become the only carrier offering direct flights between Mumbai and Toronto.
The route will be served by the upgraded Boeing 777-300ER aircraft featuring refreshed cabin interiors. Passengers will have access to eight First Class suites, 40 fully flat Business Class seats and 280 Economy Class seats. WiFi connectivity will also be available throughout the journey.
The introduction of Mumbai-Toronto flights will add nearly 2,000 seats every week between India and Canada during the winter travel season.
